Chapter 1: The Beginning
Spaz awoke in a cold and badly lit room, half naked and scared, he stood up and walked to the rusty door, as he reached to the doorknob every thing around him changed into a autumn forest, he stood their wondering what the hell happened. He could see a clock tower in the distance, he ran towards it, looked up and the clock read 00:00 am “12 o’clock, YAY lunch time” Spaz said hoping that he could find some food, once again every thing changed into a town but the clock tower was still where he was standing, every thing seemed to be frozen in time, the clock struck 12 and every thing resumed as nothing had happened. Kids were playing in the streets and people in shops, Spaz noticed he was fully dressed and not badly dressed at that, feeling hungry he walked passed a shop and looked into the window, fruit and bread nicely arranged but he couldn’t buy anything since he had no money, he slumped down and tried to thing of a way to go money, a shadow appeared over him, he looked up and looked at her, he thought he’d seen her before “Hello, my name is Jade, what’s your” Jade said smiling happily “My name is Adam but my friends call me Spaz” “whys that” Jade said with a confused look on her face “ummmm I don’t know”. “What’s this town called” Spaz said standing up “its called Burbunk, where are you from” “hehe you are a curious one, I’m from a town called Hastings” Spaz said holding his tummy “are you hungry, can I get you some food” putting her hand on Spaz’s shoulder “FOOD!!!” he said with eyes wide open, Spaz followed Jade to her house which is much like Spaz’s but a bit darker and a bit smaller, the inside looks normal and quite homely, her mum had died when she was younger and she lives with her dad and brother, as they walked in the kitchen, Spaz heard a load BANG BANG and he asked Jade what it was “huh? Oh its Karl my bother, he’s a inventor, so what do you want to eat” “anything!! I’m real hungry, did you say your brothers name is Karl” “Yes why, what’s wrong” Spaz took a long pause and stood up and walked up stairs and
See Karl while Jade made food, he knocked on the door, the door swung open and he walked in, where ever he look he could see old computers and computer hard ware but he kept walking, “Hello, who’s there” a voice said busily “err hi I’m Spaz, your sister invited me to have some food with her” long pause “oh well I’m kinda busy so go away please” “ya sure can you tell me where your dad is” “he’s at his shop, its called lock’n’load it’s a weapon shop” Karl said with still a busy voice, Spaz left the room and went to check on the food, Jade was still busy with the food so Spaz sat down and ask a few questions “Jade, I didn’t know your dad had a weapons shop” long pause “how .. Did you find out” “oh your brother told me, I wouldn’t of thought your dad having a weapon shop, can I ask why” again long pause “sigh I guess your gonna find out, outside of town creatures lurk around, waiting for people to go to the next town, we can’t kill them with your fists and feet because the have a shell as hard as stone and they have a bad temper, so the only way to kill them is with guns and light swords, we call the creatures Kurnids, people say they are born from hell and sent here to bring us down their, that’s .. how .. Mum died” “Jade I’m so sorry” Jade hands Spaz the picture of her mum “this is what she looked like” “she was very pretty, just like her daughter” Jade blushes and continues to making food, “Jade.. How old are you” Jade stops what she is doing and turns to Spaz “I’m 15 years old, how old are you” “about the same age as you, one more thing, what year is it ” “*giggle* your funny but I’ll go along with the joke, it’s the year 100.00, what year are you from giggle” “the year 2001” “VERY FUNNY!!” Jade runs up stairs crying “what did I say” said Spaz very confused, he continues to finish the food, its smells quite nice and easy too since theirs a cook book next to the food it reads marchers quick and easy soup he continues to finish, as soon as he about to say “dinners ready” Jade’s dad walk thou the door and into he kitchen. “Who are you?” “I’m Adam, Sir, and Jade invited me to dinner but I think I said something wrong and she ran up stairs crying” “what did you say” “I don’t know, we were talking about each other and I said I was from the year 2001” long pause, Jade’s dad had a angry face “REALY when you know what happened” “no I don’t know what happened” “so your not from 2001 or you’d know what of happened” long pause, Spaz is having trouble thinking what to say and remembers that Jade’s dad owns a weapon shop “so I hear that you own weapon shop” “ya what of it” “how much are your light swords” “well their 200gp each but since you made dinner I’ll give you one for 105gp,why you ask?” “I want to explore the towns ahead and I heard about the Kurnids, but I have no money and I need to go to the next town” “well I’ll give you a light sword IF you go say sorry to jade and leave our family alone” Spaz thinks for a second and says “deal, where is Jade’s room” “up stairs, third door” Spaz leaves the kitchen and goes to Jade’s room. Spaz knocks on Jade’s door “Jade I’m sorry I upset you and I’ll leave you alone now, I’m going to explore the next towns and see what happens” as Spaz walks away from the door and to the top of the stairs Jade walk up to him and hugs him and whispers “good buy and good luck on your journey Spaz”. Spaz walks down stairs and into the kitchen “ok I said sorry to jade and I’ll leave you and your family alone, can I have the light sword now” “ok, I’ll open the shop and get you one”. Spaz follows Jade’s dad to his shop and he opens it up and grabs a light sword “you know how to use it” “no” “ok then, if you want the blade to appear then put your hand in thou the grip and press the button” so Spaz does that, he put his hand thou the grip and pushes the button, a blue light comes out of the handle “thank you” Spaz says happily “ok now go, oh by the way my name is Jeff and good luck, I’ll tell Jade you said goodbye” “thank you” and Spaz leaves the town.
